The ship docked in Provideniya, the main town in the area and we took a day trip to New Chaplino. The road we traveled on was unpaved and was built by Soviet military. New Chaplino was formed from a group of Yup\'ik villages. This area is the most remote area of Russia, but surprised us with the fabulous museum and the entertainment the locals provided. Due to the weather and lighting I increased the contrast in Photoshop Elements. Since this was the trip of a lifetime, I took as many pictures as possible. I wanted to show different aspects of the landscape there. It is very rocky and I wanted to show that part of the terrain.
